Fans of The Band Perry couldn’t get enough of their favorite band this weekend when the superstar sibling trio - Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry - played to over 28,000 ecstatic fans. The show at the Boots and Hearts Festival in Bowmanville, Ontario at the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park marks The Band Perry’s largest Canadian audience to date.
“The energy coming from the crowd bordered on frenzy, we could have played the entire night fueled by that kind of excitement,” says Reid Perry.
“There's this crazy power that comes from THAT many people all singing the same songs and moving in the same way. We are still reeling and can't wait to be back north of the border” says Neil Perry.
At one point during the show the crowd swelled so much that lead singer, Kimberly Perry, suffered a large abrasion and bruise on her leg from the rack located between the band and its fans. Taking everything in stride, Kimberly never missed a beat and with her brothers finished the show; despite one of her favorite performance dresses being thrashed in the excitement. She then picked up the pieces of the torn dress and threw them into the frenzied crowd.
“It all happened so quickly that I didn’t even realize that my leg had been hurt. I just noticed the rip in my dress and saw that part of it was just hanging by a thread so I ripped off the rest and tossed it out into the crowd. It was one of those sweaty, primitive stage moments I live for,” said Kimberly.
This was one of the first Canadian audiences that The Band Perry has performed for since their tour with Keith Urban in 2010 and since celebrating their second consecutive #1 single in Canada with “DONE.” The Band Perry is about to make a BIG announcement in the near future.
The Band Perry is currently nominated for TWO 2013 TEEN CHOICE Awards, “Choice Country Group” and “Choice Break-Up Song," for their current hit song “DONE.” The 2013 Teen Choice Awards will air on FOX on August 11th.
